MRMC Broadcast – More Than Just Robotic Arms
Here at MRMC, when we created our broadcast division back in 2020, the idea was to look at markets for existing robotic arm solutions and other robotic products we had within the business and to develop automated workflows.
We quickly realised that the adoption of PTZ cameras was limiting the creative capabilities of producers, which led us to develop our PTZ enablement solutions. Our range of rails, lift, robotic arms, and the AJS Automated Jib System are equally suited to our more traditional live broadcast customer base as it is to audio-visual (AV) applications and live events.
MRMC is, first and foremost, an engineering company focused on delivering solutions to our customers. This approach positions us well for the growing AV market, as we can offer off-the-shelf solutions while also developing and delivering bespoke technology to address specific customer needs. We recognise that many environments where customers want to put cameras may be dual-purpose, so disguising and hiding the robotic camera solutions is often a requirement.
It’s exciting to be asked for solutions for so many varied technology problems. We have provided PTZ enablement solutions in the form of rails and lifts for everything from corporate headquarters and government buildings to town hall meeting spaces, national inquiries, educational facilities, theatres, and even theme parks.
Whilst MRMC is not a household name, our parent company, Nikon, most certainly is, and the acquisition of Red Digital Cinema has increased the workflow possibilities between the different companies. It’s very exciting now we have the Red Komodo X, NIKKOR Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ, MRMC SR-1 bundle, which is perfect for anyone looking for a large sensor PTZ solution, something that we are increasingly seeing in the A/V market.
Keeping contact with our customers and meeting them is important to us, which is why shows like ISE have steadily become a crucial show for us. Additionally, we are very excited that we will be exhibiting at Infocomm for the first time this year with our own booth. Consultants and system integrators are always pleasantly surprised when they engage with us, finding that we offer a depth of solutions, as well as an enviable track record, with a range of successfully delivered projects.
