Milo Motion Control Rig
The Milo is the ideal solution for achieving studio-quality motion control with a portable system. Stable enough for macro work, fast enough for live action shooting and ready to go within an hour of arriving on set, the Milo delivers all the flexibility and control required for filming on location.
Producing complex camera movements for the Milo rig to perform and ensuring full integration with industry standard 3D and CGI packages is made simple with our Flair Motion Control software. Flair allows you to pre-visualise your camera movements and transfer them to the Milo to execute on set or export the exact motion made by the rig for use in post-production.
Optimised System Geometry
Capture perfectly smooth footage from ground level (or below) up to a maximum lens height of 4.1 metres with the Milo. The extending arm is adjustable in length, and if additional height is required, the Milo Long Arm option can extend the maximum lens height to over 6 metres. The ‘Target Tracking’ feature built into Flair make straight line movements in any direction achievable.
The Milo can provide axes for Track, Rotate, Lift, Arm Extension, Head Angle (Outer Arm), Pan, Tilt, Roll, Camera, Zoom, Focus, and Iris. The overall system can also control many more axes for equipment such as model movers.
Increase ‘on location’ shooting time with the easy to assemble Milo motion control rig. A team of just three people can build and set up the rig, ready to shoot, within an hour of it arriving on set. Used daily in locations across the world, the Milo can be either transported whole or broken down by into seven main sections (excluding rails) for increased transport options. Integrated floor wheels make the Milo very easy to move around a location or studio space. This portability and ease-of-use make the Milo a go-to choice for creative visionaries.

Flair precisely controls up to 500 axes of motion and is fully compatible with all of our motion control rigs, heads and accessories.
Frame your shot and accurately record manual camera movements for repeated playback in Flair. Compatible with all MRMC Motion Control heads and rigs, and assignable in Flair to control any axis of motion, the MRMC balanced handwheels have a very fluid feel just as top DoPs and directors would expect. Additional standard built-in features like electronic gearing/scaling and direction adjustment make the handwheels a perfect accessory for all rigs.
A natural and intuitive way of controlling a motion control head, Pan Bars can be used in isolation or conjunction with other axis controllers, and movements can be recorded and accurately played back as required.
HAND HELD BOX
The Hand Held Box, or Jog Box, is a remote unit that connects to a Flair controlled rig, giving the user the freedom to move around the studio when inputting moves. Users can configure the Hand Held Box to individual requirements.
Gain accurate manual control of the focus and aperture of your lens. Use the Focus/Iris Controller together with the MSA-20 Hand-wheels or Flair Motion Control software to record and playback lens movements.
Manually control the focal length of your lens with the Zoom Controller. Use together with the MSA-20 Handwheels or Flair Motion Control software to record and playback the zoom motion.
Attaching Grips Sticks to your Motion Control rig allows you to control it in the same way as a traditional dolly or crane – by pushing it. The Grip Sticks measure the amount of force exerted on them and move the corresponding motor accordingly. All movements can be recorded for later playback by the Flair Motion Control software.
Use Bloop Lights to mark specific frames with a bright flash of light during shooting. The ‘blooped’ frame enables editors to match up angles from a multi-camera shoot quickly.
FOCUS/IRIS/ZOOM LENS CONTROL MOTORS
Playback programmed moves or record manual lens movements for later playback with these precision-machined, highly accurate lens control motors. Compatible with wide a variety of types and sizes of lenses.
Connect of your external equipment, such as lights, to the Flair Motion Control software using the Triggers Box. This simple solution allows you to trigger all of your equipment through Flair, giving you full, accurate control of every aspect of your shoot.
Connect the rig or Flair software to the different types of camera to enable control of on/off, synchronisation and other camera functions.
Precision Bearing Rail
Designed to not bend or twist during any motion or acceleration / deceleration, the Precision Bearing Rail is the best track to use with the Milo. It’s inherent rigidity and straightness provides the ultimate stable platform for the Milo, allowing for high-accuracy at speed, even over uneven ground.
Available in 1.2, 1.8 & 3 metre sections.
Lightweight Bearing Rail
Delivering higher levels of performance than industry standard dolly rails, the Lightweight Bearing Rail is lighter and more portable than the Precision Bearing rail and can be taken apart if necessary for easy transportation.
Available in 1.6, 1.8 and 3 metre sections.
