GRACE CHURCH HOUSE OF WORSHIP - AFC-100 AND MHC
The Grace Church house of worship in the US came to MRMC for a cost-effective solution to capture their services. They needed control of their PTZ cameras to create smooth and natural-looking content that could be used by a single operator. The church has 8 camera positions that needed to be controlled through a single interface.

AFC 100 AND MHC SOFTWARE DELIVER IMPROVED USER EXPERIENCE
Grace Church is a house of worship in Maryland Heights, Missouri, United States. Grace Church wanted to have better control of the equipment so that it would be possible for a single operator to create smooth and natural-looking content for its recordings.
With eight different camera positions in its 3,200-seat Maryland Heights sanctuary, The House of Worship selected two MRMC AFC-100 heads which have been integrated into the eight-camera setup, along with the Multi-Head Controller (MHC) user interface.
Compared to other equipment we have used, the MRMC robotics are high-quality products and the MHC software has a lot of potential for us going forward. We recently introduced two of MRMC’s AFC 100 heads into our 8-camera set-up, which we use to film services at the Grace Church in Maryland Heights, MO, as upgrades for an older PTZ system.
The single-user MHC and joystick controller setup used by our camera operators is incredibly user-friendly and works well with our dual remote cameras. It has given the operators improved control over their live moves, and produces smooth camera movements.
Instead of relying on static cameras with only one or two operators, Ron Krause, the technical director at Grace Church, opted for a more dynamic solution with the AFC-100 heads. These heads allow for seamless camera movement, capturing everything happening during the prayer service—from the front of the house to the auditorium stage—with ease from the control room. The two AFC-100 heads are strategically installed mid-auditorium on structural columns and operated with the incredibly user-friendly MHC Multi-Head Controller in the control room, which works well with dual remote cameras and provides a comprehensive and flexible coverage of the entire service.
Our upgrade was influenced by MRMC’s smooth live movement combined with their controller interface. The PTZs make it simple and efficient to catch these additional shots from the control room, without setting up alternate camera feeds down in the auditorium.
The single-user MHC and joystick controller setup used by the camera operators is incredibly user-friendly and works well with our dual remote cameras. We’ve found that having one operator controlling the two AFC-100 heads with both live motion and preset moves was the best fit for our shooting style. It has given the operator improved control over live moves and produces smooth camera movements.

The other six cameras consist of two units on the PTZ heads which run SDI into the router and then to the Blackmagic Design ATEM Constellation 8K 4 M/E switcher; two cameras on tripods with fibre runs; and four handheld HD wireless transmitter/receiver units using SDI runs to the router. This setup helps streamlines broadcasting system, with versatile camera coverage and allows for multi-platform streaming to Facebook, YouTube, Rumble, Vimeo and the Church Online Platform, enhancing viewer experience.

We chose the AFC-100 heads based primarily on their smooth on-air manual movement. Compared to other equipment we have used, the MRMC robotics are high-quality products and the MHC software has a lot of potential for us going forwards. We are very satisfied with the smooth movement and the control we have over our two AFC heads.
