PROJECT OVERVIEW

Goodwoof, the world’s most exclusive festival for dogs and their owners, approached our partners at The Flash Pack with a vision for creating a stand-out content moment that would truly engage festival guests and their beloved four-legged friends. They sought to capture the essence of the festival’s joyous atmosphere and the unique bond between dogs and their owners. Recognising the potential of Showbolt as the ultimate experiential event technology, The Flash Pack knew it was the perfect tool to achieve their goal.

Showbolt took center stage within the ‘Barkitecture’ tent, capturing breathtaking slow-motion shots of over 600 dogs and their humans over the festival’s two days. The robotic camera arm’s versatility and high-speed capabilities allowed it to swiftly adapt to capturing the spontaneous and playful nature of the canine attendees. Moving with precise control, Showbolt ensured every shot was visually striking, emphasising the details and beauty of both the dogs and their human companions.

Taking the robot arm to Goodwoof was a huge success. We had queues of owners and their dogs lining up from open to close on both days of the festival to have their slo-mo portraits captured. Big smiles and wagging tails all around!

The Flash Pack

THE CHALLENGE

As with any live event involving animals, the team faced specific challenges. While the set-up was relatively straightforward to avoid overwhelming the dogs, the real task lay in capturing the genuine moments of canine excitement and playfulness. Encouraging dogs to move naturally and exhibit their joyful expressions in front of the camera required a combination of patience, creativity, and a well-prepared set. Showbolt was put to the test, needing to demonstrate its ability to follow the action without causing any disturbances or distress to the dogs.

The Solution

The Flash Pack, armed with a vast amount of dog treats, squeaky toys, and a genuine passion for their craft, transformed into canine choreographers. With Showbolt at the helm, they choreographed unique and compelling scenes, prompting dogs to show off their tricks or jump up for the camera as it moved with precision and speed, emphasising every wagging tail, sparkling eye, and ear-to-ear grin, capturing the sheer bliss of the festival’s furry attendees. The robotic camera arm’s ability to move swiftly and smoothly streamlined its ability to capture the emotions of the dogs and their owners, quickly generating authentic and heartwarming shots that highlight the special bond they share.

The result was an extraordinary collection of slow-motion shots, showcasing not only the dogs’ infectious joy but also the genuine and heartwarming moments shared with their owners. Through Showbolt’s active-sharing technology, festival-goers were able to instantly recieve their exclusive slow-motion videos with their pups through a simple QR code scan.

These “family paw-traits” created lasting memories and mementos for attendees to cherish. As the delighted faces of dogs and owners alike filled screens and feeds, Showbolt once again proved its ability to deliver stunning user-friendly content that captures the true essence of any event. Its versatility, precision, and high-quality output made it the perfect tool for creating memorable and shareable moments, ensuring that Goodwoof’s guests left with a unique and immersive experience they would remember for years to come.
