The Milos Wow at the Paris Fashion Show

The Milos Wow at the Paris Fashion Show

Never thought a Milo would be walking down the catwalk at a fashion show?! Think again. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, someone comes up with another idea for motion control. This time Gainsbury & Whiting who were producing the Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 2010 collection show came up with an innovative plan to both film and feature two identical Milos as part of the catwalk show.

Gainsbury & Whiting pitched the idea of incorporating motion control in the live Paris runway show of Fashion Designer Alexander McQueen to MRMC who in collaboration with Ian Menzies from Simply MOCO set about preparing and sourcing all the required equipment and personnel. Two identical Milos both on 50 foot of rails would be positioned on stage capturing the models in their 12 inch high shoes as they walked up and down the catwalk. Not only were the Milos being used to capture the footage, they were a key element to the show itself – with the opening featuring just the two rigs on stage moving under spotlights. The entire show would be live in front of the world’s press, fashion designers and celebrities and would simultaneously be broadcast worldwide via the web. The 17 minute broadcast went off like clockwork and can be seen at Showstudio.com, follow the link below.
