Unmatched Speed and Precision for Modern Broadcasting

Originally developed for capturing high-speed motorsport, the AFC-180+ has evolved over the past decade into arguably the fastest robotic camera head on the market.

If you’re unfamiliar with our naming conventions, AFC stands for Accurate, Fast, Compact. The “180+” refers to its speed, indicating 180°+ per second. The AFC-180+ can operate at significantly higher speeds, depending on the payload. If you require a head that can achieve 250°+ per second, please get in touch with us for more information.

Available in two versions, the AFC-180s features a built-in slip ring, enabling continuous rotation while maintaining broadcast-quality video and positional data. This makes it ideal for high-speed sports environments where synchronising multiple cameras and capturing positional data for virtual graphics workflows is essential.

While the AFC-100 remains our most popular model, the AFC-180+ is increasingly being adopted by rental houses due to its versatility. Although developed for motorsport, its popularity in rentals is driven by its ability to perform all the functions and behaviours of the AFC-100, with the added benefit of higher speed. This makes it suitable for a range of applications, from simple studio setups to hot head scenarios in live events such as concerts and festivals, and of course, high-speed sports shots.

The availability of the Mark Roberts Protocol (MRP) to third parties simplifies the integration of the AFC-180 (and any Mark Roberts robotic device) into existing workflows. We also offer an API, enabling the development of custom tools to control this and other robotic solutions in our portfolio. For further details and enquiries, please get in touch.

MRMC AND PIXELSCOPE PARTNER TO DELIVER INNOVATIVE AI-POWERED SPORTS BROADCAST SOLUTION

MRMC AND PIXELSCOPE PARTNER TO DELIVER INNOVATIVE AI-POWERED SPORTS BROADCAST SOLUTION

The joint solution integrates MRMC’s AFC-180 Robotic Heads with the Pixelscope platform. It is being announced following extensive development and a recent successful trial at several USA Table Tennis competitions. Complementing MRMC’s hardware, Pixelscope is an innovative AI-powered sports broadcasting system designed for single-user operation. It accurately tracks the ball and players, providing real-time 3D trajectories, and by collecting image, audio, and time-series data, it facilitates the creation of “Sports Big Data”, which integrates into the final production of AI-automated live sports broadcasts.
