Create More Dynamic Shots with the QRS-1 Rail

The QRS-1 Quiet Rail System unlocks a world of opportunities for creating more dynamic shots and adding value to remote productions. This is made possible by the flexibility of the QRS to adapt to the requirements of a studio. For example, the modularity of the QRS allows for easily adding or removing sections of track starting from length of 1 metre up to 20 meters or more. The QRS can be underslung from a structure in the ceiling to allow for more floor space in a compact studio. Most importantly, in terms of flexibility, the QRS can hold almost any camera or PT head not restricting the producers with the type of camera they choose.

In a recent high-profile event, an 8m section of track was installed with an MRMC AFC-100s PT head and a Sony P1 camera with a serial-controlled lens. The QRS was programmed to shuttle from one end of the track to the other keeping the stage in the centre of the frame – or what MRMC would call ‘Target Tracking’ – maintaining focus on the point of interest (in this case a debate between two notable figures), while the QRS continues its panning motion.

The ease of set-up (especially for non-permanent studios), the quality of the motion, and the competitive price are what sets the QRS apart from other track solutions out there. In combination with MRMC’s multi-head control software ‘MHC’ the QRS-1 has exceeded expectations of what a track-based system can offer.
