Software Test Technician

Location: Blindley Heath, Surrey, RH7 6JP

Contract type: permanent , full-time

THE ROLE

The role is primarily concerned with execution of test scenarios using assigned software testing processes, although some full product testing and interoperability testing will be required. Following testing, you will be responsible for monitoring test data, creating issue/bug reports for software release process.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Performing regular testing of software as part of the software release process.
  • System, user and end-to-end testing.
  • Creating and following up of software bugs and issues.
  • Documenting test results and liaison with the development teams.
  • Contribute to the test perspective on product quality within the business.
  • Escalate concerns and/or important matters in a constructive manner.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education
  • HNC/HND/Degree in relevant subject or equivalent
Professional Skills 
  • Windows 7 & 10 experience
  • Computer Literate with Good MS Office skills
  • Report writing
  • Understanding software design documentations
Advantageous
  • Formal Test Certifications, e.g. Foundation ISTQB
  • Experience of hardware or firmware testing
  • Experience working with issue tracking systems such as Jira
  • Experience working with a version control system such as Git
Personal Skills
  • Accuracy
  • Attention to detail
  • Keen interest in software development
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
