Contract type: permanent , full-time

THE ROLE

In this role you will be responsible for implementing and ensuring the stable operation of the organisation’s IT infrastructure in collaboration with the IT Manager. You will also be accountable for making sure technology solutions are properly maintained in alignment with all future growth opportunities and projects. In addition, you must have a hands-on technical background and experience with PC clients in order to maintain an operational desktop environment.

The role is based in our office in Surrey and you will be managing the daily IT requirements for around 90 users. You will also be responsible for all hardware, software and 1st to 3rd line support and any ad-hoc IT projects along with the IT Manager.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Providing local and remote support to users covering all hardware devices including PC’s, laptops, tablets, and printers.
  • Ensuring company IT equipment/software is maintained to the required standards (MS Office, Windows, Antivirus licensing, installation and troubleshooting).
  • Responsible for ensuring workstation backups are regularly completed and any issues are escalated as required.
  • Assisting with generating and implementing the Company’s IT Policy.
  • Ensure effective and regular technical updates for R&D and other departmental employees.
  • Responsible for the procurement and management of all IT equipment as approved by IT Manager.
  • Provide technical contributions to the business for IT initiatives and projects.
  • Managing the IT new starter process.
  • Responsible for ensuring continued Network and Computer Security.
  • Maintenance of server and user hardware and software to defined security and anti-virus policies.
  • Other ad-hoc assistance required by IT Manager and Head of Establishment.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a senior IT technician role or experience in a similar environment
Professional Skills 
  • Strong understanding of all network principles
  • Windows experience
  • Knowledge and experience in remote access services such as VPN, RDP and Remote Apps
  • Basic knowledge of Storage & Replication backend would be an advantage.
  • Expert level on all hardware including Servers, PCs, Printers
  • Knowledge of backup systems and antivirus support
  • Any Microsoft Certificates would be an advantage

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Clear understanding of evolving IT requirements for an SME
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • A high level of discipline with flexibility and professionalism
