We had a fantastic time at the NAB Show this year – It was by far our busiest show to date! Teaming up with Nikon Inc., we had the opportunity to have a much larger stand and therefore demonstrate a wider range of robotic solutions. We also launched two new broadcast solutions – Polycam Chat and Polycam Player – automated tracking solutions for broadcast and stadium environments.
Out newest motion control rig, the Bolt Jr. also had its first showing at the NAB Show; both the Bolt and Bolt Jr., were on track, programmed to do one of the most incredible robotic synchronised dances we’ve ever done – watch the video below!
There was also a range of robotic heads, including the Robotic Pod and AFC-100. Additionally, we showed the Studiobot, a multi-axis robotic camera arm, integrated with BlackTrax automated tracking for in-studio applications.
Our dancing Bolt in the main Lobby also attracted large crowds, with nearly 1,500 people dancing and interacting with the high-speed arm and sharing their videos. Watch the highlights below!
This year’s NAB Show was likely one of our busiest and we had a tremendous amount of interest in MHC (Multi-Head Controller) software, and its ability to have tailored skins. Another key focal point was in IP connected technology; many visitors were interested in the ability of remote production through IP, using MHC tailored skins with our robotic heads.
See the short video below from IABM, who visited our stand, and conducted a short interview, that covers this great new technology of MHC.

New Product Release at the Show
NAB Show is only a few weeks away and we will be showcasing some incredible new tech developments along with numerous cutting edge robotic solutions.
Our new Multi-Head Controller software (MHC) will make its debut at the show. MHC is a new software platform designed for complete user simplicity. As the name suggests, it controls robotic heads at the touch of a button from a single workstation.
Demonstrations will include key features such as its ‘store and display’ capability – where users can save camera moves or presets and then load them into UI ‘buttons’ that anyone
can then use.
Next Generation UI Technology
However, the keynote feature of MHC is its ability to be UI tailored to virtually any broadcast requirement. This means any environment can be mirrored into MHCs UI functionality, giving users instantly recognisable buttons, graphics, moves etc.
Whether you want an interface skin for events such as tennis, darts etc., or for a studio, stadium or other live event, MHC can be tailored to the user’s specific requirements for complete speed, control and functionality.
Cutting Edge Broadcast Robotics
We will also be demonstrating a great range of robotic solutions, including The POD, AFC-100, the Whisper Head and a StudioBot Lite arm – all of which will be controlled by MHC.
Visitors will be the among the first to try out these cutting edge robotic solutions through the new MHC software, and you’ll be blown away at how simple and user-friendly it is to control some of the most advanced robotics in the broadcast market today.

NAB SHOW 2016 REVIEW
NAB this year was definitely one of the most enjoyable shows we’ve ever had! The team had such fun using the Bolt and shooting many of the stand visitors. Theatrics including dances, jumps, celebrations and other creative displays were all caught in super slow motion!
This year we also received a nomination for Best Stand Award!
Not only was our high-speed Bolt Cinebot on display, but we also had demonstrations of the PTZ-1, our new compact 4K UHD, IP68 indoor and outdoor Pan-Tilt-Zoom unit, compatible with AJA’s new Rovocam; and the AFC-100 Pan Tilt heads showing integration with broadcast-ready real time face tracking, using our AimTrack software.
