Compact High-Speed Unit
Add vertical motion
Full motion control system
The Ulti-Head it is designed to be the ultimate in low-cost yet precise and portable motion control head. But now it is even more versatile as it is specifically designed to be a very modular motion control system with easy addition of extra axes of motion. In particular, the axis of Track adds a tremendous degree of freedom to the Ulti-head and any shoot.
By adding a high-speed track motor and dolly system, as well as some industry standard rails, a whole new range of shots can be accommodated for very little additional cost. As an added benefit the track axis is “back-driveable” meaning that it can be pushed manually to record the motion**, just like a normal dolly, and then the motion can be repeatedly played back as often as required, or even the data exported to CGI.
There are a number of options for the Track system including:
The UltiHead and any additional axes, like the Track, can be controlled using remote hand-wheels, joysticks, or pan-bars. Alternatively it can be programmed from the keyboard and mouse, using the advanced Flair software system with a highly graphical and user friendly interface. Flair also gives the operator the ability to pre-visualise the move both numerically and graphically and make adjustments as necessary before committing to the action run, as well as importing and exporting moves to CGI, such as XSi, Maya or Filmbox.
If the system is not required for motion control but simply as a remote system then it can easily be connected to the MSA-20 Handwheel or Joystick controller instead of Flair. This gives the ability to operate or dry-hire the system with little or no training as the operation is so simple and intuitive.
This awesome system boasts several key features to set it apart from anything else currently available on the market, including:

The Full Modula rig is designed to make full use of its modularity by enabling the user to adapt it to any shoot, whether the requirement is something very fast and compact to quickly follow some action or be very portable, or whether it needs a full jib arm system for filming over a product. The Modula rig uses the Ulti-head pan tilt moco head as its basis and then builds up from there.
