Mark Roberts Motion Control at Cine Gear Expo – June 20th 2008

Mark Roberts Motion Control at Cine Gear Expo – June 20th 2008

Next month Mark Roberts Motion Control will be showing the new Talos motion control rig at Cinegear. This will be the first appearance of the hugely popular Talos in North America since its debut at IBC, Amsterdam, in September last year. Since its release the Talos has worked on numerous locations around the world, and this rig will now be available from Camera Control Inc. in Santa Monica.

The Talos is an 8 axis moco system, designed for accuracy, speed, rigidity, portability and all the qualities the Milo is known for but in a smaller more compact version, designed to fit through standard doorways and about half the weight of the Academy Award winning Milo.

The Talos runs off the industry standard Flair software, giving full integration with CGI packages. It can move with speeds in excess of 8ft per second and includes the motions of track, lift, rotate, pan, tilt, focus, zoom, iris, with plenty of room for additions like model movers.

On show will also be the motion control Ulti-head, now with full wireless facilities as well as the Modula’ Base which offers high speed motion control tracking shots.

Everyone is welcome to visit. We look forward to seeing you there.

Exhibitions, Expos & Conventions – BSC, Cinegear, BIR-TV, IBC

Exhibitions, Expos & Conventions – BSC, Cinegear, BIR-TV, IBC

Mark Roberts Motion Control have exhibited newly developed equipment at a number of shows recently and there are some more major exhibitions in the coming weeks. First this year was the British Society of Cinematographers exhibition which was the first public outing for the new Modula’ Rig track and bearing rails. Then came Cinegear, which saw the Modula’ Rig track and bearing rails enjoying the Los Angeles sunshine and wowing the crowds with its speed and precision. With track speeds in excess of 10 feet (3 meters) per second and superb acceleration

This month MRMC will be exhibiting at BIR-TV in Beijing. If you plan on being there then please let us know as soon as possible. On the stand will be Ulti-heads, track and various controls, including our Flair motion control software.

And finally next month will be the annual IBC convention in Amsterdam. Remember to register online in advance at the IBC website to get FREE access to the exhibition, as well as a FREE bus/tram pass and avoiding the queues. YOU MUST REGISTER BEFORE THE 20th OF AUGUST TO GET FREE ENTRY!!  http://www.ibc.org Don’t delay, do it now.

The plans for our IBC stand this year include the presentation of our new Talos Rig as well as the Modula’ Rig and its various options. Don’t miss on this opportunity to see what the development team at MRMC have been working on the last few months. MRMC produce the best selling motion control equipment in the world, and we are looking forward to hearing about shoots from our new customers, which since the last newsletter have come from all corners of the world from the USA, to Korea, and London to South Africa.

MRMC success at Cine Gear Expo

MRMC success at Cine Gear Expo

We had a successful Cinegear Expo 2006 in LA last month.  Located on the Panther Dollies and Cranes booth – our collaboration partners for many years - we displayed two of our Pan/Tilt Ulti-heads.  One Ulti-head was running as a motion control system together with a Track axis (pictured above left) and a 360 degree roll axis (based on the Alien Revolution from MK-V), while the other was mounted from the jib arm of a Panther Evolution dolly and was being used purely as a remote head system using the new MSA-20 Handwheels.  Both systems performed brilliantly and generated a lot of interest.  The motion control system flawlessly performed over 2000 repeating movements over two days in the blazing California sun (more than can be said for our Managing Director who sought refuge under the shade whenever possible).  We had visitors from the US and many other countries especially Japan, as  well as some unusual characters such as Elvis who kindly paid us a visit.
