Super Panther in action Video 02 - 2251 kb

The Motion Control Super Panther consists of a standard Panther dolly
with Super jib, our FLAIR motion control computer, axis control unit and
motor attachments.

The Super Panther has 8 Axes of Motion

Track Easily attached lengths of racking are clamped to the standard track. A motor and gearbox mount on the bottom of the dolly, providing rack and pinion drive.
Rotate A large diameter rotate ring provides precise control of the jib arm.
Lift The standard Panther lift motor is modified and thereafter can run from our Flair computer.
Pan and Tilt For geared heads such as Moy, Arri and Technohead. Also  the Cam Remote or MRMC heads can be used.
Zoom and Focus Fit most prime and zoom lenses. Our motor units simply attach to the matte box bars.
Camera Motor Where the camera has it's own built in motor we can synchronise our computer moves accordingly. Alternatively, for other cameras we supply our camera motor unit. For a Mitchell camera, film speeds from 0-125FPS are fully controllable.

Attachments Easily Coupled and Removed

All motor attachments are easily coupled to and removed from the Super Panther and geared heads. Thereby enabling it to be quickly returned to normal use.  Click :here: to see a Panther dis-assembled.

Compact Controls

The PC, keyboard, electronics and power supply are housed in a compact flight case. These items remain in the case during operation keeping them safe and out of the way of busy surroundings.

Remote Handwheel/Joystick Mimic Facility

By using the remote handwheels the Motion Control Super Panther makes an ideal field recorder. With its mimic facility, the computer can record a move made with the hand wheels or joysticks and replay it back on demand. During replay, further axes can be added to the move. For example, track and lift could be recorded first and pan and tilt added on replay. Additionally, any move created can be exported as data to 2D/3D software for CGI purposes, or vice versa, planning the move on CGI and then importing it to the Super Panther to be shot. For more information about the full capabilities of the software features please see the FLAIR page.
