Motion Control is used with a variety of different cameras, both film and video. For many years the favourites have been the Mitchell range of cameras, due to their superior four-pin film registration, meaning complete precision when shooting multiple passes. In fact, many techniques required the effects to be created "in-camera", so that the film was repeatedly rewound and shot on, again and again, with the takes matching absolutely.
