Now with the new Fries 35/73 conversion it is possible to utilise your standard Arriflex, Mitchell BNCR, Panavision or Nikon lenses on your high speed 35mm Mitchell pin registered camera. The Mitchell camera was chosen for ifs world famous steadiness, reliability and high-speed capabilities

Through the lens reflexing is accomplished by using a rotating mirror which interrupts the image to the film and reflects it to the viewfinder.

The 35R reflex viewfinder uses all new-coated optics for a crisp, bright image at 5X magnification. The eyepiece is adjustable for individual focus and is positioned for comfortable right or left eye viewing. The viewing image is manually correctable through 360 degrees rotation of the viewfinder.

Out of necessity the variable shutters had to be removed to accommodate the Arri-type Angenieux, Cooke and ZEISS lenses, and the mirror becomes the camera shutter with a fixed opening of 170 degrees.

The ground glass is readily interchangeable and available for all standard formats including 1.85/N. 1.33/n~ 1.85/1.33, 1.66, 2.35 etc. Specials can be made to customer requirements.

Interchangeable lensmounts are available for Arriflex, BNCR, Panavision or Nikon mounted lenses. At the time of order the 35R3 can be equipped with any one, or any combination of the lensmounts listed.

All cameras are prepared for video assist capabilities. A video assist is available with a 2/3" low-light level video camera. All cameras are refinished in standard black.

Weight: 18 pounds (camera only)

The 35R is compatible with all of the original Mitchell accessories. Matte box rod holders are available for both the standard high speed lower fixed rods, and the BNCR style side swing away rods. Standard Mitchell magazines are still used.

The camera base mounting configuration accommodates the Arriflex balance plate and therefore is compatible with the Arri system of matte boxes and follow focuses.
