For small TV productions and animation shots, the 16mm Bolex
camera can be used. Mark Roberts Motion Control can fit a computerized motor to
the camera to give full control of the camera from the software and synchronize
its movements to the rest of the motion control rig.
Of course this is also very useful for stop-frame animation and
time-lapse photography.
Another very common request is to fit a Video Assist to
an existing camera. Bolex cameras do not generally have a video assist
although that is a very useful feature. Due to the variety of Bolex
cameras, the design of the video assist system MRMC manufactures varies
from camera to camera but the photos here show the general idea that is
applied to any Bolex camera. Prices start at about £2,000 per camera.
