The Arri 435 Advanced and 435 Advanced looks very similar to the original 435 from the outside, but the internal electronics and mechanics have been completely overhaulled.

The benefits of the 435 Advanced and the new 435 Extreme is that the camera allows direct control of its filming functions from the motion control system, so one can smoothly control the camera speed from 0-150FPS, as well as the shutter angle from 11.2 to 180 degrees, including running moves with variable camera speeds. This facility is not available on any other camera except some Mitchell cameras.

It also has an extremely good flicker-free video assist, can take a huge variety of different lenses, and has an optional integrated capping shutter for long exposure, time-lapse, and animation purposes.

To use the 435 Advanced one would use the 435 Interface. Please note that the motion control facility on the 435 Advanced and Extreme is optional and not standardly fitted.
