Spider-Man Meets
The Stars

The
newly developed Gemini system is now in operation with the start
of filming on the Spider-Man movie. It is currently also undergoing film
condition testing with Camera Control Inc, a sister company to Mark
Roberts Motion Control situated in Santa Monica, USA. Gemini
allows the film industry's popular Libra III remove camera head to be
controlled by Mark Roberts Flair
software. The Academy Award winning Libra III head is a compact and
lightweight stablised 3 axis (pan-tilt-roll) remote control head which
can be mounted onto a dolly or crane. The Gemini system is
a briefcase sized motion control unit which runes Flair.
It allows the movement of the Libra head to be recorded and played back
to be edited and interfaced to CGI. Running off 24 Volts the Gemini is
truly portable with inputs for recording the movement of cranes as well
as the head. It also has a complete Preston motor system interface for direct
connection to the industry standard Preston Focus/Zoom/Iris controls. |
