Last month’s
release of the latest MC Tools is
likely to affect everyone involved in special effects, motion control,
animation and CGI. Developed initially by Erik Bierens at Photon VFX Pty,
the product is now being distributed internationally by Mark Roberts
Motion Control.
This remarkable software application allows
a quick and efficient exchange of data between motion control rigs and
2D/3D workstations.
MC Tools
makes seamless joins between 3D packages in the marketplace, each with
its own file format and coordinate system, without the need for
programming skills, complex scripts, plug-ins or drivers, any user can
transfer data.
MC Tools
is effectively a universal translator. It is currently capable of
translating between Softimage, Xsi, Maya, Flame, Flint, Inferno, Alias
– Power Animator, Flair and Kuper. We plan to implement both Lightwave
and 3DS Max soon.
