Flair Now Has
Complete Control Of The 435 Advanced

| The new Flair
interface to the Arri 435 Advanced camera is now complete and has been a
great success. Traditionally, the Mitchell camera has been the camera of
choice for motion control due to its highly accurate 4-pin film
registration, and high speed capabilities, as well as lending itself for
complete motion control intergration. With this new interface one can finally allow Motion Control to use the
Arri 435 camera where traditionally
only a Mitchell could be used. Using the new electronics of the 435 Advanced,
Flair (Mark Roberts Motion Control award winning software) can have full control
of the camera including running the camera at any speed from 0-150 FPS both
forward and reverse. As well as control of the shutter angle from 11.2 - 180
degrees, and the optional Integrated Capping Shutter. Apart from the added advantage
of higher film speed, and the accurate control of the shutter angle, the Arri also offers users the possibility to use a wider range of more
modern lenses that are specifically designed for the Arri.
All movement can be fully
synchronised to the motion control system so that any effect can be created from
time-lapse and animation (including go-motion/motion-blur/moving-step), to high
speed and camera vari-speed with the shutter compensating for the change in
exposure. In fact Flair has built facilities for compensating with both the
shutter angle and the Iris. |
